Bronchos Take Down Woodward to Advance to Regional Consolation Finals
Kingfisher, OK - The Bethany Bronchos (4A-#20) stumbled a bit in their district round game of the playoffs, but in the two elimination games since then they have been stellar. The Bronchos fell to McLoud (4A) 54-51 in the district round after leading most of the game, but that loss has led to the Bronchos fighting through adversity and advancing through the loser's bracket to the Regional Consolation Finals. After that initial loss Bethany first took down John Marshall (4A), 63-52, to stay alive in the playoffs. The Bronchos looked strong in the win, especially since the Bethany had lost to John Marshall earlier this season.
The win advanced Bethany to the next round and a matchup with Woodward (4A) yesterday at Kingfisher HS. The Bronchos continued to look good in this one as they sailed to a 72-47 win over the Boomers. These back to back wins will put Bethany into the Regional Consolation Finals at 3:00 PM today vs. Elk City (4A). This game will once again be played at Kingfisher HS. Bethany and Elk City met back on February 1 with the Bronchos taking that game 71-48. The winner of the consolation finals matchup will earn their berth in the 4A Area Tournament which will start on Thursday, March 3 at the Stride Center in Enid, OK.
