Bronchos Defeat Bridge Creek, Advance to Regional Consolation Finals
Oklahoma City, OK - This basketball season has been anything but normal due to both COVID and the debilitating winter storm from a few weeks ago. Bethany (4A-#18) had missed six straight games going into the playoffs and the Bronchos had to get back in a rhythm, but it appears that now they have. After losing the district game to Fort Gibson (4A-UR) this past Tuesday, which was Bethany's first game in over 30 days, the Bronchos have now won two straight to move into the Regional Consolation Finals.
The Bronchos got back on the winning track in their first regional round game on Thursday with a massive 73-32 victory over Chickasha (4A-UR). Then on Friday the Bronchos continue to get back in the swing of things and secured a 46-37 victory over Bridge Creek (4A-UR). The win over Bridge Creek moves Bethany into the Regional Consolation Game where they will face off against Seminole (4A-UR). Seminole comes into the contest with a 13-8 record on the season. They defeated Sulphur on Friday night in an elimination game, 49-45 to advance. The Regional Consolation Finals will take place at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 27 at Heritage Hall High School, with the winner advancing to next week's Area Tournament. The OSSAA has strict capacity restrictions as part of their COVID protocols, so all Broncho fans are encouraged to watch the game on the NFHS Network at www.nfhsnetwork.com.
