Volleyball Wins Bethany Invitational
Launch the media gallery 1 playerBethany, OK - Bethany hosted their annual Volleyball Invitational Tournament this past weekend and the Lady Bronchos (4A-#10) came away as the champions. During pool play the the Lady Bronchos defeated Lawton (6A), Blanchard (4A), and Northwest Classen (6A). All of those matches were two set victories for the Lady Bronchos.
The afternoon saw the bracket play portion of the tournament and in the semi-finals the Lady Bronchos were able to take down Putnam City (6A) in two sets, 25-17 and 25-15. The win over Putnam City sent Bethany into the championship game. In the championship Bethany would face a team from their own pool, Blanchard. The Lady Lions came out strong in the championship taking the first set 25-21 over Bethany, but the Lady Bronchos rallied after that, winning the final two sets 25-23 and 15-6 to take the tournament title. Bethany's Avery Ausley was named the tournament's MVP, while Jordyn Reid and Ellie Ray were both named to the all tournament team.
Bethany also came off of the tournament win playing well. On Tuesday, they traveled on the road to Crossings Christian (3A-#4) where the Lady Bronchos upset the fourth ranked team in class 3A in three straight sets, 25-19, 25-23, and 25-23. The Lady Bronchos host Oklahoma Christian School (4A-#4) tonight at home in a big conference matchup!
