Lady Bronchos Take Down #9 Ranked Locust Grove

Jones, OK - Bethany (4A-#13) came into the Jones tournament playing well, but ended the tournament with perhaps their best overall outing of the season. After beating Woodward (4A) 62-60 in the first round of the tournament the Lady Bronchos drew Jones, the 3rd ranked team and defending state champions in Class 3A. That game was a classic with Jones sealing a victory from the free throw line in a back and forth contest.

The Lady Bronchos came back Saturday though and controlled the 3rd place game from the start against Locust Grove, the ninth ranked team in class 4A. Keziah Lofton led the Lady Bronchos in the game with a double-double, 18 points and 18 rebounds. Kayten Donley added 12 points and 9 rebounds, Lauryn Scalice had 11 points and 5 rebounds, and Avery Marchino had 9 points and 8 rebounds. The great play from Bethany led to a 55-30 win over a top 10 opponent.

Bethany will be back in action against Clinton (4A) on Tuesday, January 25 in Clinton.
