Boys Soccer Wins District Championship, Takes Top Seed into Playoffs
The Bethany boys soccer team started the year playing a brutal scheduled against past state champions and top teams in the state, but that grueling start has paid off as the Bronchos are now playing their best of the season. Bethany finished the season with seven straight wins to lock up a 4A-1 District Championship. The clinching game was a 3-2, OT road win over one of the top teams in the state, Chickasha (4A). The district championship is a huge advantage for the Bronchos as it guarantees them not only a chance to host a first round playoff game, but they will also host a second round game if they advance.
The first round of the playoffs for the boys will take place at home on Monday, May 1 at 8:00 PM. The Bronchos will take on Classen SAS, who finished the year with a record of 5-6 along with a 4-3 record in district 4A-2 to finish in 4th place. The winner will advance to a game against the winner of Woodward and Newcastle, who also play on Monday in Woodward.
