King Finishes 2nd at Blanchard, Boys Team Comes in 5th
Blanchard, OK - Saturday was the first cross country meet of the season for the Bronchos (4A) and Kaylen King jumped out to a great start on her senior season with a 2nd place finish in the HS girls division. King finished second to Jade Robinson a top runner in class 6A a year ago from Norman North (6A). King covered the 2 miles in 13 minutes and 8 seconds. This was a strong start for King, who was the 6th place finished in the Class 4A State Championships a year ago. Katelyn Hoefar finished in 28th place for the Lady Bronchos with a time of 15 minutes and 40 seconds.
On the boys side Bethany (4A) came in 5th place over all behind Oklahoma Christian (3A), Guthrie (5A), Community Christian (2A), and Santa Fe South (5A). The Bronchos were led by Kyle Zielinski who covered the 5k course in 18 minutes and 22 seconds. Keegan Ross was the second runner to cross for the Bronchos in 18 minutes and 40 seconds, while Carson Shirola finished as the 3rd Broncho in 18 minutes and 49 seconds. Mason Wyett and Brandon Koonce also scored team points for Bethany, while Cole Powell's time worked as a displacer.
The Bronchos middle school boys team also had a strong 1st place showing in the meet with Ruslan Calderon coming in 4th overall, Bryant Huynh coming in 5th and Beckham Williams coming in 9th. Also, scoring for Bethany just outside the top 10 was Seth Greiner (12th Place) and Griffen Tarrant (14th Place). Maddox George and Artur Calderon's times were also good enough to work as displacers for the Bronchos.
