Three Bronchos Earn 4A Football All Star Honors

Launch the media gallery 1 player - media #3The Oklahoma Coaches Association released their annual All State and All Star Football teams this week as decided upon by a committee of coaches from around the state of Oklahoma. Three Bronchos, Jackson Howard, Jacob Kyle, and Lawson Stout were all selected for the Class 4A All Star team and Lawson Stout then moved on and was selected from the All Star Team to represent Class 4A at the annual All State Game on July 26th in Tulsa. Jackson Howard made the 4A All Star team as a defensive back after a fantastic senior season which saw him garner 91 tackles, which made his career tackle count finish at 191. Howard was also a huge contributor on Special Teams for the Bronchos returning two kickoffs for touchdowns this season, one being in the semi-final win over Clinton. Howard also ended the year with 336 receiving yards and four touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball and was a big time deep threat for the Bronchos due to his speed. And if all of that wasn't enough Howard was also the Bronchos place kicker and had some pressure packed kicks on the year including the game winner at Kingfisher as time expired and the game tying field goal against Clinton to send the game into a second overtime. In addition to the All Star Honor he was also selected as a 1st Team Little All City Player by the Daily Oklahoman and was selected by the coaches of District 4A-2 as the Outside Linebacker of the Year for the district. Bethany Head Coach Jon Arthur said of Howard, "Jackson was a huge contributor for us in a number of ways on offense, defense, and special teams. His commitment to being the best he could be was shown by him each day in his work ethic and the fact that he never missed a summer workout his entire time in high school. Jackson's work ethic and commitment to the team was second to none, and will be missed."
Jacob Kyle also made the Class 4A All Star team as a Running Back after his spectacular senior season in which he ran for 1,425 yards, had 290 receiving yards, and scored 16 touchdowns in leading the Bronchos to a State Runner Up Finish. Kyle was an extremely hard runner and had some big time plays on the year including a huge night of nearly 200 yards against Weatherford in the first round of the playoffs. In addition to being selected as a 4A All Star, Kyle was also honored by the coaches of the district as a 1st Team Running Back for District 4A-2 and then by the Daily Oklahoman as an Honorable Mention member of the Little All City Team. Bethany Head Coach Jon Arthur said of Kyle, "Jacob was not only a fantastic player for us on the field, but he was a great leader off of it. His team first attitude was always evident in his actions and he was willing to do whatever was needed of him to help the team succeed. We are very proud of Jacob and the leader he was for our team."
