Lady Bronchos Secure District Title with Win Over Ada
Ada, OK - The Lady Bronchos soccer squad headed to Ada Tuesday night with hopes of securing their first district championship since 2011 and that is exactly what they did. Bethany dominated the possessions from start to finish, often times for 4-5 minutes at a time. They did a remarkable job working the ball around and finding high percentage scoring opportunities. Brae Baker led the way scoring two goals on the night while, Brooke Marik, Asley Baker, and Marlee McLaughlin all added goals of their own to lead Bethany to a 5-1 win over Ada. Ada was able to force a corner kick which they were able to convert into a header for a goal just before half time, making it 2-1 at the break.
The Lady Bronchos came out and took control again scoring in the first 5 minutes to make it 3-1 and then putting two more goals into the net to solidify the result and win District 4A-1. It is the girls 3rd District Championship in program history and 1st since 2011. Ada falls to 5-7 on the year and currently sit in a tie for 2nd in the district standings. The Lady Bronchos will finish the regular season against Cushing on Friday, April 16 before starting the playoffs on May 3.
