Bethany Splits on Opening Day of Regional Tournament
Blanchard, OK - The Bronchos were in a nail biter up 1-0 on Cache in the 5th inning when Ben Lawson had a game clinching double that scored two runs to give Bethany the cushion they needed. Bethany held on to beat Cache 3-0 and move on to play in the winners bracket.
Unfortunately for the Bronchos that matchup is with Blanchard, who is 34-0 on the season. Blanchard played well in this one downing Bethany 19-2 to clinch their spot in the regional title game. Bethany will now have to win tomorrow to get into that championship and have another shot at Blanchard. The Bronchos will play the winner of Cache vs. Elgin which started after 9 PM on Thursday. Bethany’s game is scheduled for 4 PM, but with severe weather again a possibility for tomorrow game times may be modified or changed and we’ll try to keep you updated. Follow “Bethany Athletics” on Facebook or Twitter for the latest updates. With a win tomorrow Bethany would play Blanchard again at 6:30 PM and need to beat the Lions twice to advance to the state tournament.
